My usb mouse just quite working. Tried new batt, changed port. Touch pad works, but not mouse. I think I touched the wrong key by accident?? I am a senior and not that computer literate. Using Windows 10 home edition. Help

I doubt pressing a key could disable your mouse.

Is the mouse connected to the computer with a cable ?

If possible test the mouse on a different computer.

No, it's a USB mouse. I changed the port that the mouse receiver(?) goes into, that didn't help. Is there a place that I can click to turn it back on? I know, it sounds silly, but I had to ask. (LOL).

Unplug the wireless receiver and open Device Manager then plug the receiver back in, does anything change in Device Manager ? Do you get a sound when you unplug or plug the receiver in ?

Yes on the mouse itself but you haven't told us what brand and model of USB mouse you are using so we can't show you where the on/off switch on the mouse is located.

Is it connected to a laptop? If so, what is the brand and model of laptop because the touchpad and mouse can be toggled on and off?

Well,.....we tried the mouse and receiver on another computer, and it doesn't work there, either! So.., it's off to wally world and get another one.
My computer is a laptop, it is a Acer Aspire V17 Nitro. About one year old. I'll let you know how it goes with the new mouse. Later guys & gals.

It was the mouse itself. New one fixed it up just great. Thanks so much for your help!
