User moved from Administrator to Power Users group lose
functionality of applications. Apps such as Word 2000 stop
launching and come up with WINWORD.EXE-Application Error,
referring to a memory location that could not be written.
Can this be an issue with the local security policy or
Windows 2000 Pro registery? The problem does get resolved with the creation of a new NT profile. I would still like to know why this is happening and if we can avoid creating a new profile in case this happens again in the future. Please advise if you may have seen this before.

Thanks in advance!

Make sure you have allowed enough memory to be used for other users. The admin cen set this all up. You can limit everything from surfing, disk space, etc etc.
