    Hiya

Not sure if there is one already, but as I tend to watch many films of all sorts from an online company (can't say who it is, but anyone in the UK will know them, as I 'Love' their 'Films' :p

So, here we go. Can be any films, just post honest reviews on if you liked/hated it, and who knows, some people may find new ones to watch they hadn't thought of before :)

Try not to post the synopsis from Websites, as it tends to spoil it. Just post what you felt about the film (y)

So, lets kick it off with a film I saw a few days ago. This is one from my dvd's, and its a Hitchcock film:

    The Rope

Won't give the game away, but basically you know from the very first 10 seconds of the film that its a murder. That's all I'll say about the actual film, as I don't like to give the full plot or even a storyline of any of the films ;)

So, its a good film. Mostly based around a few key characters, and its a typical Hitchcock film, with suspense and a case of 'what comes next?' parts.

The three main actors, James Stewart, John Dall and Farley Granger are very good. James is his usual self, but there are the odd times it looks like I felt he was waiting for a cue. John had some very funny moments, especially when he spoke to a lady about her childhood.

The directing of the film is good, especially in those parts where we're drawn to look at a part of the room where one person is, but see only half of the side of the others, as they're in a group off shot.

So, my rating out of 5? 4.5

    resident evil films Milla Jovovich

Not a zombie in sight but the story of a woman who witnessed a serial murderer at work and then lost all face recognition due to the fact he threw her off the bridge
My uncle sent it to me for my birthday

i have nothing, as i still haven't seen 'house on haunted hill' yet. do you eventually want "way too scary" or "not too scary" ratings? ;)

guess i'll learn who milla jovovich is too! :)

Haven't seen a movie in a few months... especially in the last month after having my first child. Last I saw was Suckerpunch...

Name says it all... if you paid $9 for it at the movies you would have felt you have been suckerpunched... movie made absolute no sense. 1 star

Better than The Wicker Man (with Cage)

The last movie I saw at the Movie House was Super 8 and it was a fun time, but the commercials that the Movie Houses bombard you with is ridiculous....(n) I'm just about tired of a 2 hour Movie with 1 hour of commercials...:( I think I'll just wait until they come out on DVD or BlueRay....

    Kings Speech was excellent...

I saw a good family movie the other day - Zoo Keeper. Stars Kevin James, same actor from Mall Cop.

Also saw Captain America in theatre. Good movie too.

I also enjoyed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Kings Speech is added to my list for future viewing now (y)

One film I watched recently was SharkWater. This is a documentary, but its a very good to watch. Its actually about trying to stop shark fishing, for the fins. Very well done, as its a viewpoint of a guy that was doing other things, then turned to try and stop the fishing.

    This is a short synopsis:

There were a few points in the film that I was very sad at watching and seeing, escpecially with some poor sea turtles :(

Must watch it though, very informative.

saw this poll of 'the top 10 horror movies.'
really? anyone have another list?

    1) the exorcist 2) the shining 3) the thing -1982 4) halloween - original 5) poltergeist 6) silence of the lambs 7) the ring 8) alien 9) the texas chainsaw massacre - original 10) jaws

haven't seen them all, but would include silence of the lambs <shudder>.

The exorcist is a good film, as is the Shining. Yep, agree on the Thing..in fact, all of them I've seen and agree on.

Alien is a scifi, so not really horror.

I like Hostel, watched it many times.

Last night was State of Play. Excellent thriller staring Russel Crowe. Very good in the way it was done, recommend it (y)

so would you say (overall) older horror is better?

ah, so alien really shouldn't be on the list, although it must have scared enough people to say, "meh! too frightening to be anything but a scary movie."

you could easily moonlight as a movie critic! :D

looked it up.. & you meant original hostel, not hostel part ll ?

with everyone's recs, the list is getting looonger :)
