This has always been in my head for a good few years now: Films shot in America.

As many are shot on location, eg New York, LA, etc, has anyone actually seen anything take place? What I mean is, the actors/actresses there, directors, or the actual shooting.

Plus, how do they do it? I assume that that 5 min clip of a car chase, complete with crashes, takes a lot longer to set up, so are the streets closed early morning, for a few hours?

I read that the film 28 Days Later, when shot in London, they did it at early morning, eg 5am, and closed the city off, and ran around like headless chickens getting the shots, as they needed to reopen the city.

As I say, mainly curiosty :D
