Mozilla Firefox error message - Could not initialize application's security component

    I updated Mozilla Firefox and now when I open it it gives me this Error Message.

    Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features.

    Please help!

    IE is giving me trouble too - if there are 2 or more windows open and I close one, it closes IE down completely.

    Appreciate any suggestions!

    Make sure that Firefox is closed and not running, then try this.
    Open Run from Start and type or copy and paste:
    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\
    then hit OK.
    Open the profile folder and look for the file named file named cert8.db
    Right click on it and select Properties> General tab> and make sure the Read-only checkbox is not checked.
    If that is ok and not checked, you can just delete the file. It could be corrupt and a new one will be created when you restart Firefox.
