When I make an audio cd, I can play it in surround mode on my surround system, but if I make an Mp3 cd, I can only play the cd in stereo mode. Why can't I play an mp3 cd in surround mode and is there a way I can burn the cd to allow this?

I know that mp3 files are all in stereo, but somehow when I burn a normal audio cd with mp3 files my surround sound lets me play that in surround mode. I know there probably isn't a difference but in surround mode I can change the equalizer settings but on stereo mode I can't.

I play my cd's in my dvd player/surround sound. Audio cd's work in surround mode and I can use all the equalizer settings but mp3 cd's only work in stereo mode and I can't change the equalizer.
