    Hi,

I have a bit of an issue with my MP3 playback. I used Winamp, but problem also happens with WMP. When playing an MP3, and doing another task, such as downloading a torrent file, or moving files around the HDD, the playback stutters and skips...almost like its in slow motion. It seems only to occur when the drive that the MP3s are stored on is accessed. (Its a different drive to my XP install) I have a P4 3.2Ghz, with 1.5gb Ram...so performance of the processor and memory is not an issue.

It seems to be a HDD problem. But it is a new drive, and seems to access ok in every other sense. Although, I have been getting a few disk errors also...time outs and the like. I am suspecting the problem is with the MP3 drive, although i have suspicions it could be the OS drive.

What I am after is a recommendation on a good drive error checking program...or something i can use to test the perfomance?
