When ever i try to add tracks to my mp3 player(500mb) it says not enough room available. If you go into device properties, used space is 471.6mb however if you add up the sizes of each file it totals 397.22mb. Why am i missing 74mb?

Tansfer the MP3 tracks into your hard disk then FORMAT your USB flask using FAT. After this procedure, transfer back all your MP3 tracks into your gadget.

It is a type of disk format that stands for "file allocation table". If you link up your gadget go to my computer>right click the drive of the device>click format>click start and let it do its thing or better yet if it has a program like a creative brand mp3 player will go to that program and do it from there as that will have the correct settings for it.

How many files are on the drive? When you look at the properties of the drive in Disk Management, what filesystem does it say it's formatted with? Note that there are limits to the number of files in the root of FAT filesystems, can the player play from a folder?

Like what we said, you need to format the mempry on the player. the drive somtimes still sees files that arent there anymore and still marks the space for them. By formatting and reloading your data that clears everything out.
