Why won't Windows Media 11 play some MP3 files?
I can burn some MP3 files and they play fine. Other MP3 files will not play in WM 11 or when burned to a CD.
I have all the updates and the files will play in QT or Nero.
Are there different types of MP3 files and can I convert them to a format that will play when burned to a CD?
    Thanks to all.

Some of the MP3 files might be DRM Protected, and will only play in certain programs.

Mp3's are never DRM protected. Are you sure all the files are mp3's and not .wma's?

All mp3's. How can I find out if they are drm protected? Any way to clear the drm?

Load some into GSpot and check the specs. Look for CBR, VBR, Stereo, Joint Stereo etc. See if you find any patterns of those that play/won't play.
