I have Windows Vista Basic, and a couple of my .mpg and .mpeg movie files have little stutters in the same places every single time. I have a Vista Codec pack installed on it. My specs are 1.86 gig processor, 1 gig ram and integrated vid card with 300 mb. I have this pc connected on a network with an older computer that has windows xp, and those same movie files play flawlessly with no stutter at all. i'm using wmp 11 on both computers, can someone please give me some advice? oh, i have also tried uninstalling any codecs on the vista pc, and those movies still stutter in the same place.

oh, and not all my mpg and mpeg movie files don't stutter, just like 4 of them. all avi and wmv play perfectly as well. what could be the problem????

For playing movie files please use VLC very light on system resources and with the right codec it will play anything you throw @ it.
The right codecs being K-Lite Codec Pack go for the full version, oh and remove your Vista Codec Pack before install.
Hope this helps. :)
