Im having problems understanding Access. Attached is the database I am currently working on. What im trying to figure out is how do I get Access to automatically subtract an amount from a record if a new record is formed. Specifically, my database has a table titled "Preliminary deals" and "106318 Available capacity". Whenever an amount is entered in "Preliminary deals" for a specific date with K# 106318, i need Access to automatically subtract that amount from the record on that specific date in "106318 Available capacity". What is the best way to do this? Any help, please.

Sorry, I can't work with Access 2007 databases.
It may be possible to do this with a query, but it is more normal to do it with a VBA Recordset.
