When I insert a TOC in Word 2002 the inserted part is "highlighted" in grey. How can I get rid of that grey background?

Using Win XP and Office XP.

A Table of Contents is a field, not ordinary text. Field Shading must be turned on. Try looking in Tools > Options > View and check the Field Shading box. If it is set to Always, then turn it off.

    Hope this helps! :)
