Hi I made a change in Services. Now at startup i get notification that I'm running in Dianostic or Selective mode. I have tried to select Normal mode several times but I keep getting the same notification. Do I have to undue the change and revert to original Services settings to get Normal startup to work? Unfortunately I have forgotten what Service I changed. Any thoughts appreciated.

thats a normal thing to happen
if you make any changes with msconfig - then you will get that message box..
ie if you goto startup tab and untick a box - this message will appear.
you can tick the dont show me this message box and it will stop.

does the PC have any problems with the service you switched off

Actually I set Terminal Services to Auto to successfully correct a problem. Normally I use Services.msc to make changes but this time I goofed. I'll tick the don't show me box. thanks for the reply

HELP!!!!!!!!!! I have ticked the don't show me box repeatedly but it won't go away. It returns with each new startup. Any ideas on what my next step should be? Could a disabled Service be the cause?

    Hope this helps.

Go to this link to see my MS Config and System setup. This what comes up for a WINXP Home edition PC freshly installed with SP2, and Norton Anti Virus.

Otherwise the PC is new and clean with nothing else installed.
