So today I got a new computer(no monitor), So I decided to use my AIO MSI WIND TOP AE2040-001US as a monitor.
Turns out the VGA fits, but I get no response when going to the monitor menu then >VGA
I tried using the HDMI - in, but there's no option to change it to HDMI.
When the computer is off(with HDMI connected), an icon that looks like this
    [IMG]
    lights up.

Oh and I'm also not too sure about the VGA being plugged in right, it metal protector around the little pins for the VGA is a bit too long for the one on the computer, so it doesn't connect far enough for the screws to reach.

The specs say that the HDMI is only a video out, the VGA says it's a video in. You have to use the VGA.

Does the computer have both onboard/integrated graphics and a dedicated graphics video? If it does you need to make sure to use the dedicated graphics card.

Also, if the VGA plug isn't fitting correctly then that could be the issue, you'll need to examine it closely to see why it doesn't fit all the way or try another cable.
