A virus messed up MSIEXEC and associated dll's. I have fixed everything (I think) except for MSI.DLL. If I try to copy the good dll to the Windows/System32 folder, I get a message "Cannot copy msi. It is being used by another person or program."

I've tried booting in safe mode, but still get the same error msg. I also downloaded and reinstalled the Windows Installer redistributable, and while the install gave no error messages, the old MSI.DLL from a previous version remains in my System32 folder.

    Ideas, anyone?

Unlocker is the solution to the following types of Windows error messages

    * Cannot delete folder: It is being used by another person or program
    * Cannot delete file: Access is denied
    * There has been a sharing violation.
    * The source or destination file may be in use.
    * The file is in use by another program or user.
    * Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

    1. Simply right click the folder or file and select Unlocker

    2. If the folder or file is locked, a window listing of lockers will appear

    3. Simply click Unlock All and you are done!

Some people might not view my option as the best option, so best to see what other people have to say before you do anything.
