For whatever reason I cannot get my computer to sign on to use Messanger. I've been all over MSN's site and none of their troubleshooting has helped. I don't have a firewall so that's not the problem. I think I must have some setting screwed up. If anyone has any idea I'd appreciate any help.

Is this a recent event? Were you able to sign in to Messengers before, or have you never been able to sign in?

I suggest a clean reinstall i.e. after uninstallation and not on top of the existing one.

Do you have a hotmail account or a .net passport?

Try using some other MSN compatible messenger and try. You can download one from http://www.indiatimes.com. It is a unified messenger and works with Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, etc.

There also used to be another unified messenger called Jabbar. But I think it has been discontinued since last some time. But you can still try at http://www.jabbar.com
