Our work just upgrade my computer to Windows 2000 (ecel, etc.) Now when I open multiple files in excel or acces or word, I get the one task bar "icon" / place holder for each file opened. Before, with 97 there was only the orginal Excel window you opened and then any other files of the same program were listed in the "windows" menu...anyone know how to get rid of the multiple windows palce holders?

    Thanks!

    Cool. Raiders. Good luck.

    :D

    multiple task bar buttons?

    IT'S A NEW FEEECHER!!!!

    LOL!!

YOu can turn it off in Excel, under Tools-Options (I forget which tab, View?) and then uncheck "windows in taskbar".

They never did put an option to turn it off for Word. It's a FEEECHER. LOL

    :)

XP allows the option in both Word and Excel.
