Music and Powerpoint

I have made a small powerpoint show of 7 slides.
I wanted to put an mp3 soundtrack along with this but when I tried to play back the slideshow with the music on, only the first slide would appear but not the rest.
I know I have set up the show properly because when I run it without the music file , it fades from one slide to the next like I want it to.

check your slideshow animation effects. the sound will show as a "media" object.
order & timing tab will set start of sound but;
media settings tab will default to pause slideshow until the sound play is complete; "Pause Slide Show". you must select the Option Button "Continue Slide Show".
You will also note options to instruct music when to stop play.
