I'm using Cakewalk's Music Creator 2, but for some reason, I can't get sound to playback. I have a midi output selected, but when I hit the play button, I don't get any sound. Any ideas?

hi nahaz13 welcome to tsg
try this...open cakewalk...options>audio>advanced
put a checkmark in "always use mme interface" click ok

then go to options>midi devices
you should see ms wavetable synth and midi mapper
highlite the synth and then "move selected to the top" click ok
should work after that...let me know

I've already selected the ms wavetable synth as the midi output, but I still can't get any playback.

hmmm...did you highlight and move to the top?

have you checked to see if the synth volume is turned up in your master volume?
ie..double click the speaker icon in the system tray.

sorry if these are dump questions but i have to ask...
are you just trying to play a midi file or are you playing an instrument into it?

gotta go now but you might wanna check the cakewalk forum
i've learned some cool stuff about the prog. there....

I'm trying to get it to play back a midi file I created with the program. It's on a church laptop, so I'll cehck the other stuff the next time I'm in there, probably tomorrow afternoon, and I'll let you know.
