Hi, I've played music files from two separate hard drives with no problems for ages using Windows Media Player 11. Recently, there have been distortion noises in some tracks, similar to crackles in vinyl records. This also seems to be happening when playing through i-tunes and is heard on discs I have burnt. Sometimes playback also bounces like a disc catching in an audio player. Not sure if the problem is hardware or software.
    Any advice welcome.
    Thanks

PS Just tried Real Player and same broken sounds.
