I am using iTunes for playing all my music tracks. Until recently I could play through any track I wished, but recently I am getting an error message on certain tracks, but not all. The message is to the effect that "the original file could not be found". It sometimes advises me that, instead of being located at F:/Media/ etc....., it now shows file://localhost/F:/Media/ etc. As I do not know what this "localhost" is and how it has occurred on just some of my tracks, can anyone throw any light on how I can recover these tracks? Thanks.

localhost would refer to your PC.

file://localhost/F:/Media/songname.mp3 <<would be the direct link to a file using a command line or browser.

Why they are showing that way in iTunes, I don't know. A guess would be the iTunes database is corrupted.
