Bought a 1tb seagate HD from scan when I plugged it into my PC it told me to format the drive which I thought was odd. I did what it said and got the error message saying the format could not be completed.

I've tried using disk management deleted the volume and started from scratch but no luck. I then tried to format using CMD in administrator mode and it didn't even get past 0%.

It's a brand new drive and I'm thinking that if the drive has corrupted how can I fix it.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

Download SeaTools from the Seagate website and run the diagnostics. If it is defective, replace it under warranty.
