My C:windows wont boot

    C/Windows wont boot and i have 38 gigs of stuff on their...i installed windows exp again and i got 200 mb left and i wanna be able to recover all my files....

    When I would start up I would get an error message saying .... " windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:\windows\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM.
    It told me to restart with the setup and "r" to repair ... i need some help here guys!!

    Since i didnt know how to use the repair i just installed windows xp again on the drive i didnt overwrite just made a new sector.
