WAYNESBORO — Cermak Technologies Inc. is doing its part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by using the company’s 3-D printer to make face shields for medical staff working on the front lines.

“On March 31, we received a call from Mark Milburn, a nurse at the Waynesboro Hospital emergency room, asking if we had the capability to 3-D print face shields for them,” said Mike Cermak Jr., owner of Cermak Tech, located at 46 S. Potomac St. in Waynesboro. “One of my employees, Carlton Spriggs, has become really good with using our 3-D printer and has printer parts for us to use at Cermak Tech for a while now, so we looked into it and found a design that would work.”

It warms the heart when someone steps up to the plate to offer their services when called upon for the benefit of others.

Congratulations Mike, Cermak Technologies and it's employees! 🇺🇸

Of course I knew about this work you were doing but congratulations on it being recognized like this and also for being willing to share the design so others could make them as well. I'm sure you feel good being able to contribute to the cause in some way. I know you to be selfless and caring so I'm not really surprised that you found a way to be productive in a way that would benefit others. 😇

You are now a true agent of SHIELD, but no acronym is needed to know you're helping to protect the real super heroes! (y)

Thanks, everyone! I'm glad that there's something useful that we can do during these difficult times. :)
