Hello tri z racer The mouse freezing while playing music can be a driver or IRQ conflict problem or both. The missing drive thing though on top of your mouse freezes sounds even more ominous. Have you ran a virus scan?

This also could be an indication of hard drive failure.

How would you fix a driver or ICQ problem? I am also experiencing a similar situation. I had a sound blaster live card and my computer would freeze and lock the sound in a 1/2 second loop.

I removed the card and installed an Audigy 2 card. Things were working great but then I received a message stating that windows had recovered from a serious error. Now my computer just gets to the welcome screen and then reboots itself.

    I am running XP
