Hi Guys,

I have window 8.

My computer is regularly crashing and getting the BSOD.
Also some times it wont load up.

This has only happened recently and is now really slow and I have no idea what the problem is.

If you could help me get it back to how it was before that would be much appreciated

Hi simonxplicit,

Let's see the following. :)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

BSOD Information

Please include the error message and STOP code of your BSOD as pictured below in your next post.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Seatools for Windows Hard Drive Test

  • Please download Seatools for Windows (click I Accept) and save it to your desktop
  • Double click the icon, select Run, then select Next
  • Click I accept the terms of this License Agreement, click Next twice then click Install
  • When completed select Finish
  • Double click the SeaTools for Windows icon which was created on your desktop during installation
  • Place a check mark next to your Seagate hard drive
  • Place your cursor over Basic Tests and from the drop down list select Long Generic. Note: This test may take a long time to complete
  • Report the results of the test in your reply

I got the message Long Generic Fail

Now is a good time to make sure you have a current backup of your important data.

Unfortunately, your Seagate product has failed an important diagnostic test, possibly caused by problem sectors which are difficult to read. Seagate recommends that you run SeaTools for DOS, which has the ability to repair most problem sectors. SeaTools for DOS may be able to save you from the inconvenience and down time of exchanging the drive. For more information on this subject see our online FAQ:

Also some applications are coming up with an End Process window.

I have also had on 3 occasions my desktop background and all the icons disappear and become black
my power button disappear
Ctrl Alt Delete not work either

It sounds like your computer's harddrive is dying or has died.

You need to backup all data you wish to keep and order a replacement harddrive.
