my computer is oooooooooooold!

    just wondering if anybody could tell me if i can upgrade my old dell dimension 4550 (that is about 6 years old now). I just wanted to put a
    ZOTAC nVidia GeForce 7600GS 256MB DDR2 400MHz/800MHz DVI/HDTV PC

    in place of a nvidia geforce mx420... anybody know if i can do that?

    If it's an AGP card, not PCI-E, then you can put it in. But you propably won't have enough power for that.

    Look at an ATI 3450 card... if you have the power requirements (about 400watts) then the $80 3650 is a lot faster. Here is a lower power card for under $40: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129083

    Also, AGP versions of GeForce cards are slower than PCIe versions.

    Almost anything is faster than a GF4mx card...
