Recently I have been unable to access my 'My Computer' folder. Either the folder opens and when I click on a file it goes into 'not responding' mode OR the page opens with no drives listed. Any ideas anybody?

    Hi plzen

To rule out viruses, run an online Anti-Virus scan from at least one and preferably 2 of the following sites
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
    http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/
    http://security.symantec.com/default.asp?
    http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/
Allow them to clean/delete any spyware/malware or viruses/trojans they may find.
Make a note of any files flagged that were unable to be cleaned or deleted.

Download or verify you have the most recent versions of:
    Ad-Aware SE 1.05
    Spybot-S&D (ver. 1.3) and

Install Ad-Aware SE and Spybot-S&D and check each of them in turn for updates.

For Ad-Aware SE click on Full System Scan and deselect Search for negligible risk entries.
Let Ad-Aware SE remove what it finds.
Run Spybot-S&D and have it fix what it finds marked in Red.

After running your online virus scans and running Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S&D,
close all programs and reboot to complete the removal process.

Let us know what you find and if the problem still persists.

You may also want to try chekcing the disk for any errors and verifying there aren't any problems with your Windows isntallation (try rolling back to an earlier date if you have XP or installing-over if you have an earlier version)

Do the anti-virus, anti-malware/spyware/adware first, then the disk check (scandisk, defragmentation etc) and then try the Windows options in that order.
