Yesterday I had someone take a look at my computer to see why it was making a buzzing noise. It was dirty, and then it was cleaned. However, now the computer sometimes shuts off if something is plugged or unplugged, such as a mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc. What's wrong and how would it be fixed?

You need to post your system component specs. Motherboard; EXACT make, model and revision (if applicable). Processor; EXACT make, model and stepping. Memory; EXACT make and model. Graphics Card (if installed); EXACT make and model. Power Supply; EXACT make and model. Provide links to the components.

If the machine is a mass produced machine such as Dell, Gateway, HP, etc. post the EXACT make and model as there may be known problems with certain makes and models.

No one can diagnose a problem without knowing the EXACT components you used in the build or the EXACT make and model of a mass produced machine.

With the problem you describe the make and model of the power supply are important. You can look on the power supply and there should be a decal that has all the specs. If you can take a pic of the decal and post it.

Since your problem sounds like it may be a power supply problem, you can access BIOS and there should be a section generally named Hardware Monitoring or something to that affect. It should show you the voltage output from the power supply. Post the voltages for the +3.3v, +5v and +12v rails as shown in BIOS.
