When I open up the "My Computer" window the contents pane remains disabled (greyed out) and the window stops responding. Needless to say this is rather infuriating, but I cannot manage to fix it. Does anyone have a solution? I've tried instructions to fix this problem located here and here to no avail:

    http://forums.techguy.org/archive-windows-nt-2000-xp/113867-explorer-folder-pane-grayed-out.html

    Here's how the window looks:

Opening any other Explorer windows works fine, for example opening My Pictures, or running Start, Run, C:\Program Files.

    Thanks in advance,

The only other fix I can find on this is to click once inside the blank window, and, holding down the Ctrl key, click the + key on the numeric keypad.

    Luck!
