Let us know if that works.

If bonk's suggestion doesn't open the display, try this fix from kellys-korner.
Scroll down to line # 285 on the right, Restore All Display Tabs.
Instructions to run regedits at top of web page.

Have you noticed anything else not working or strange on your PC?

Does go start then Run type cmd click OK....does this bring a new black window up with white text?

Go back to that window by clicking start then Run type cmd click OK

In the new window type chkdsk /r then press Enter

You will be given the option to run a Check Disk on the next restart press Y and then press Enter.....

The next time the PC starts it will run the Scan...it may take awhile so please be patient....do not turn the PC off while it is scanning.

If you still have problems the I would post a hijack log but try the scan first.

Click Start then go My Computer and right click on your Hard drive usually C and choose properties then Tools tab and under error-checking click the check now button and tick both Automatically fix file system errors...Scan for and Attempt Recovery of Bad Sectors click Start

It will schedule one on the next re-start click OK and if so re start...it will just start checking

Understood........ I would post a Hijack log for a Expert to have a look.

Download Hijack This to your desktop open it and click on the Hijack.exe it will open and use the default path, check do you wish an Icon.......click on Icon and choose scan system and save a logfile usually in notepad.....copy and paste the logfile in your next post, using Ctrl+A to copy All and Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste.

infected, to say the very least. Going to request that this be moved to the security forum for a faster response. Varia, don't do anything with the hjt log until recommended to by an expert; you've definitely got some nasties in there responsible for your problems.

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout fom

http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
or
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log in the forum please.
