Ok, I have no idea what I've done, other than install windowshades, putzed a bit, changed my desktop back to WinXP theme, VOILA! Blurry fonts on my desktop. I've checked everywhere I know to check... I need advice! :)

    Thanks in advance!

    Do you have ClearType on?

Display Properties>Appearance>Effects>Use the Following method to smooth fonts

Cleartype is great on LCD's, but blurry on at least some CRT's...

Ummm, for some strange reason, I can't click the "effects" button.
Well wait, I can click it per se ... but nothing happens. :(

Very strange, are you using XP? I assumed you were, 2k doesn't have Cleartype...perhaps it has something to do with the program you installed? Are any of your other fonts blurry? (Like the words you're reading right now in this post)

What is Windowshades, and where did you find it? I can't find it on Google...have you tried uninstalling it? Or is it some sort of theme?

Have the icons on the desktop changed?

My icons haven't changed... and no, I haven't uninstalled the program, YET. The only blessing in all of this is that I've gotten rid of the blob of color behind the fonts now... :)
Now, if I could just get my fonts back to normal......

    it's like they're mirrored now....?

Ah, okay, I wondered if it was Windowblinds...easy mistake to make, ;)

You can get rid of the "blob of color" if you go to

System Properties>Advanced>Performance Settings>Check the box near the bottom that says "Use drop shadows for icon lables on the desktop"

Could you get a screenshot of the fuzzy fonts? Press the Print Screen key on your keyboard while at your desktop, and you can then paste the screenshot into MS Paint, and save it as a .gif or .jpg, then upload it using the "Attach file" feature that you see on the Add Reply page here on the forum.

Pressing the Print Screen key copies whatever is on your screen to your clipboard. You have to "paste" the image into an image editor, like Microsoft Paint or Photoshop or PaintShopPro.

Ok...I got it saved in Paint ... then I saved it to my desktop...can't get the file to upload here...?

kramnnim... I tried to upload it but the site said the file is too big?
    Any more suggestions?

Yes, you will probably need to crop most of the image out, and leave only a part with the fuzzy fonts showing. You also need to be sure to save it as either a .jpd or .gif, a .bmp is too large. The file needs to be under 200kb.

Would you have to use Windowblinds? If you want more themes, you can get hundreds over at themexp.org, you just need to get StyleXP or the free UXtheme pacther over at tgtsoft.com. It's just hard to say if it's possible to get your fonts unfuzzed, if the program that seems to be causing the fuzz is still installed...

Unless Windowblinds is not the cause of the fuzzies? Would it be feasible to try uninstalling Windowblinds, to see if you can get your normal fonts back?

I uninstalled the program... rebooted...still have fuzzy fonts.
