Last week I had the Security 2012 virus. I did some research from my laptop and then installed Stopzilla while in safe mode. It took some time, but eventually Stopzilla was able to run and get rid of the virus. The computer, however, continued to get the same or similar viruses each time we used it and the list of them would show up in stopzilla and we would then have to stop what we were doing and run the long scan. So it happened again last night but after we ran the scan and chose the option to remove the items that Stopzilla had found, the computer became nonresponsive and my entire desktop was gone. Upon restarting, stopzilla popped up briefly but nothing else and then it was gone and I was left with a blank screen. The only thing I was able to use was the taskmanager. I was able to type firefox into taskmanager and bring that up but nothing else. I have no desktop in safe mode either. I am panicking. There are pictures and stories on that computer that the kids and I would be heartbroken to lose. Does this sound familiar at all to you? Do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance for your help :) April
