Solved My friend windows 8.1 pc boots up really slow and lags

    That's the system Info.

    OS Version: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center, 64 bit
    Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N3060 @ 1.60GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 76 Stepping 4
    Processor Count: 2
    RAM: 1896 Mb
    Graphics Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics, 1024 Mb
    Hard Drives: C: 465 GB (341 GB Free);
    Motherboard: HP, 81F1
    Antivirus: Windows Defender, Enabled

    That's the system info above. The pc most times reaches 100% disk usgae. It lags everytime I browse the internet. Boot-up is extremely slow and it's affecting usgae. what can i do?

    Well for one, with only 1896 MB of RAM is not much help.

    What protect programs are running other than Defender?

    smadav. It's a secondary antivirus program. That's the only one there. So would, a ram upgrade help ?

    It may, but I think it is a waste of money to spend anything on this one.
    I would apply the monies toward a newer more powerful machine.
