I have a Gateway pc that is about 4 yrs old and it is running slower than a snail. I have defraged, cleaned disk, deleted any unnecessary programs, ran Ewido scan, Avast scan, and checked my Armor2net and my Winpatrol. All clean. We are trying to do a system restore right now, but nothing is working so far. We are running Windows xp home, 128 mg. IS there any hope or is it time for the shop? Would buying more memory do the trick? Help!:(

128 is a bare bones amount of memory for XP so yes get more

I'd disable Ewido now that you've run it as it can slow you down

Get HiJack This V1.99.1 http://thespykiller.co.uk/files/hijackthis_sfx.exe - double click the DL file and click UNZIP letting it extract to its default folder C:\Program FIles\HiJackThis, run it from there, DO NOT fix anything, post the log here.
