I have cable internet and someone has hacked it and set a password to it and I can't get online. I am having to go to a friends house to post this! A little message pops up and says UHAVEBEENFREAKINGLOCKEDOUTOFINTERNET and ask for a password. How do I find out who did this? I have contacted my internet provider and they said they can't help me. The police can't help me. So what can I do to find out who did this before I reset my router?

There isn't much you can do to find out. If your cable modem has logs ( which I doubt) it may have the ip address of the last access. But when you reset it, the logs will be gone.

When did you see that message ? Is it when you try to navigate to your modem web site? Or did you see it when you double click on internet explorer ? Or it is some where else ? I need to determine what program./web page poped up the message. What makes you think you need to reset the modem?
