My laptop charger started smoking while it was plugged in

my latop charger started smoking while it was plugged in. I don't know what happened. But now it is not charging. I have plugged it in but not charging. Really worried. need urgent help

If it started smoking, why on earth do you think it would be safe to plug in afterward? Throw the charger away immediately and then purchase a new one.

You could try another room outlet. Normally, wall outlets are daisy chained in each room. If that doesn't work then you need a dedicated computer wall outlet, an electrician can install it. It is connected to the electric box directly, and is made for handling more powerful computers.

But if it is an older house with older wiring, then that won't work.

I recommend either you port it and shut off the screen, and/or go to a professional.
