    Old version of HiJack

    Click here to download HJTsetup.exe: http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/HJTSetup.exe
    Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.

    Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
    By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
    Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
    Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
    Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
    At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
    Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
    Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
    Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
    Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
    DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

    ================
    You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

    Please download FixWareout

    http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe

    Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

    When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, Hijack This will launch. Close Hijack This, and click OK to proceed. )

    Fix these with HJT – mark them, close IE, click fix checked

    · Double-click the Network Connections icon
    · Right-click the Local Area Connection icon and select Properties.
    · Hilight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties button.
    · Be sure Obtain DNS server address automatically is selected.
    · OK your way out.

    * Go to Start > Run and type in cmd
    · Click OK.
    · This will open a commad prompt.
    · Type or copy and paste the following line in the command window:

    ipconfig /flushdns
    · Hit Enter
    · Exit the command window

    Do that before you restart.

    =============
    At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

    Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new Hijack This log.

    ==================================
    If you get an Autoexec nt error do the following

    XP Fix - http://www.visualtour.com/downloads/

    Scroll down to get XP Fix

    And run FixWareout again.

    Thanks for your help. It seems to be better. But one thing that is going on is that when I go to the address bar and type in directly an address, such as www.cnn.com, it takes over 30 seconds before it will go to that address. I have tried numerous addresses, including yahoo, google, msn, espn, etc. However, if I go to Google and search under that address, it searches right away, finds the results, and I can click on that and get to the site much faster. That doesn't kill me, but it just wastes a lot of time. It didn't used to do that.

    Try this

    DownLoad http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

    Launch the LSP application, and click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox.

    Move nothing just click Finish.

    Didn't seem to work. Still taking 30+ seconds. By the way, the LSP-fix didn't delete any files. I checked I know what I am doing, but it didn't take anything out.

    Thanks.
