my registry is something strange??

    i have just noticed my registry is something strange, every item has been doubled in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT like that:

    and every other item has been doubled like that (with a number at the end)....i wonder whats going on in my PC :confused:
    btw, i have win XP Pro. maybe you can help me?

    Did you run any programs like spyware or anything recently they may have simply made backups of those files you listed thats why tou see them listed twice.. I know Hi-Jack this has this feature

    uhmm, i have run hijackthis, adaware, pcbugdoctor, spybot, avg, registry mechanic, system cleaner. is it safe to delete these double entries as it makes the registry to be too big. and all the registry has been doubled like that, not just the entries i`ve listed above.

    your best bet would be to run a quick disk cleanup
    1. right click my computer
    2.select open/ right click on your c: drive select "properties"
    3. click on disk cleanup

    see if that helps getting rid of those double file entries..

    thats as far as i would go then...if they're still there they shouldnt bother or degrade your pc's performance.. (y)
