    Hi,

I have a 2Ghz AMD XP CPU running in machine, 1GB RAM (P133) running under Windows 2000.

I have Norton 2003 checking for virus's (and it does very well!), i have spybot making sure there are spywares on my machine. I use Regclean every few days. I'm generally quite careful with my machine - anything i download gets virus scanned before i run it.
    So i don't think its a virus!

I have all the lastest driver updates and critical updates from MS.

My cooling is FINE (1x80mm case fan, 1xexhaust fan, 1xbay cooler and my CPU fan is reccomended for a 3Ghz processor and is self-regulating from a heat sensor)

    Why does my machine freeze??

It usually happens during high CPU drain tasks quicker than low drain... But it does happen even if i'm only running something small like Kazaa...

    Here is my HiJackThis log:

You have some extras Startup items that may be causing conflicts or low resources. I recommend you download StartUp COP and disable unneeded Startup items, such as C:\WINNT\NCLAUNCH.EXe and C:\WINNT\wt\updater\wcmdmgr.exe

    You can get it here:

Also, check the system fans inside the case!

Make sure that the Power Supply fay is running as well as the CPU fan and any other fans on the chips.

If a fan stops working, it can cause overheating and lock-ups & shutdowns.

    One more thing...
Make sure that the inside of the case is dust-free. Dust that builds up can stop heat from disapating correctly and can also cause problems.

    Good Luck!

    All fans running.
    Some dust, but have cleaned...
    The software at http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,2173,00.asp
is pay software... Sorry, but i don't like paying for software!

Can anyone suggest anything (free) i can do to sort the problem conflicts with:
    C:\WINNT\NCLAUNCH.EXe and C:\WINNT\wt\updater\wcmdmgr.exe

I already run Regclean... Does this not help?

    Matt.
