    Hi all,

I am running Win2KPro that has always been great. Lately the o/s has begun to just absolutely crawl along, no matter what I'm doing. Boot up takes forever, as does any other sort of operation, both online and not.

I recently removed blaster and installed the relevant patch, but currently avast! and ad-aware both find nothing. I'm not convinced--my laptop is sick!

Following is my hijackthis log. Thanks for the help in advance!

    This one
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [tourpath] regedit /s c:\winnt\tour.reg
    looks a little unusual.

If you open the c:\winnt\tour.reg file using Notepad - what are the contents?

    This one
    C:\PROGRA~1\Save\Save.exe
    likely represents a SaveNow variant
    http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/SaveNow.html
Perhaps Spybot - Search and Destroy would get it for you.

    The Adaware reference
    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Ad-aware] "C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-aware 6\Ad-aware.exe" "+b1"
looks a bit fishy to me - but I don't use adaware much. Perhaps someone here can tell me that it sometimes runs under the RunOnce key rather than the Run key ?

    This entry is OK
    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Ad-aware] "C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-aware 6\Ad-aware.exe" "+b1"

A new reference file came out for Ad-aware 6 today. Please update using webupdate.

Please make sure that your are using Ad-aware according to these instructions http://forums.techguy.org/t164245/s.html. Following these instructions will allow Ad-aware to detrect more objects that you can remove.
