I use Netscape Communicator. I downloaded the new 2001b version of ICQ. When I try to open the subjects down the side of the list, games, career, travel, etc., I get a message that says "You have chosen to download a file from this location navcancl.htm from shdocvw.dll What do you want to do with this file? Open it from it's current location? or Save to disk? .... I choose Open it from it's current location. Then a message comes up that says "Internet Explorer can't open the Internet Site "http://web.icq.com/cf/ate/channels/ie-games/0,,518-1,00.html" so I just cancel everything.

I can live without the games and subjects down the side, but now everytime I log onto ICQ I get that same "you have chosen to download a file from this location navcancl.htm from shdocvw.dll" message. I just cancel it. I don't even know if I can use all the features on the new ICQ. Also, now that I've upgraded to 2001b, I sometimes get messages from friends and the ICQ message screen is blank.

I'm not a computer guru and don't understand this. I don't understand why, since I don't even have Internet Explorer, it tells me that I.E. can't open the site. I thought Communicator should be opening the site. I've tried to research the navcancl.htm from shdocvw.dll thing ... and even did a run regsvr32 actxprxy.dll and regsvr32 shdocvw.dll thing because if you click on details it talks about Kernels.

Sorry this is so long, I am a little frustrated on this. Hope you can help. I've asked this question to so many people - even ICQ Tech Support - who tells me it should be working now. Maybe at least you can tell me if I'm asking the question under the right topic.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

    Hi Connie:
Don't use ICQ myself, but sometimes it works to unintall
    and then reinstall software.
