Necessary running processes

    What are he bare bone processes does Windows XP require to operate properly? At present I have 39 running with no programs open.

    I stumbled across an extensive service list at Black Viper's.

    He also explains how to free up some of your Ram and VM, at Windows XP Super Tweaks.

    Even with all this info I had a hard time figuring out what all the processes were, svchost.exe is the worst. You might find process viewer helps a little.
