    Good Morning,

My organization is looking to host an IVR platform, and the local telecom gave us some technical requirements for the server.

I am very, very green regarding this stuff, and hoped to find some clarification here.

In a recent email, the telecom wrote:

"Server that will handle IVR service most be strong enough in term of CPU, MEM, HDD, etc.
Eg. (02) CPU or QuadCore, 4 GB of RAM, 2 x 72 GB of HDD, etc.

It can be either HP or SUN as you want, but that will depend also on the OS version. Preferably, up to G3 or G4 if HP.”

I'm looking at a bunch of G3 and G4 HP server, but many of them say "No HDD"

    Is that normal?
I am also seeing many shipping weights between 80 - 110 lbs. Does this seem right?

Should the server ship with an OS? Or can someone like Sun or HP put an OS on the machine for us?

Any all around advice would also be appreciated if there is something else I should be taking into consideration.

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris
