This is my first posting to this forum; thanks in advance for being available to help my me solve some serious hijacking/spyware/virus problems with my neighbors PC.

Problem 1: Repeated infection with Trojans (scagent.exe, windrv.dll). I delete the files, and they eventually reappear. Norton finds them and says that it can't fix or delete them.

Problem 2: Browser hijacking. My neighbor logs in (dialup) with Juno free internet access. Internet explorer often launches itself soon afterwards and goes to xxx sites, etc. Any attempt to change the home page of IE fails, it reverts to about:blank.

Problem 3: Slow performance.

Problem 4: Often, the connection to the internet is closed, especially after the browser window is hijacked.

I ran Adaware and found over 150 objects which I deleted.

I ran HJT and here is the log:

Hi jtarler

Welcome to TSG! :)

Please rescan with Hijack This and post a fresh log.

Also Click here to download getservice.zip and unzip it to your desktop. Open the Getservice folder and click on the getservices.bat file. A notepad will open up with a long list of Services. Please save that notepad file and attach it to your next reply to this thread. It will be easier to attach it rather than copy and paste because it will be too long to paste in one post.

After you post the next Hijack This log and the getservice list, it is very important that you not restart your computer or attempt to do anything to remove this until I have posted the removal directions because the files and the entries in HJT will change and we will have to start all over again. It would be best that you do nothing at all with the computer until you get the directions.
