    Howdy all!

Could some of you give me a hand here.

I am just about to build a machine, it'll be a P200 (ish) with 32(ish)MB Ram, 2 X 3COM Etherlink III (3c509B), and a vid card (does it matter it's DOS!)

Having never networked DOS before I need some pointers about what to do....

All I want to do is allow both of my win98 machines access to the net through the gateway

    any thoughts? any changes?
    let me know??

    Cheers,
    The Axeman

DOS alone won't do it. You can use Linux or some sort of Proxy server. Wy not just get a cable/DSL router?

    it's a question of funds!

I have all of these bits kicking around.... :)

can you suggest a cheap / free dos proxy?

I have ZERO experience with Linux (and I don't think my Cable Co. support Linux)

    Axe.

    Thanks for the replies!

I got it working, I found a really useful site http://www.bbiagent.com
it has an OS that needs no hard-drive, is based on linux and is especially for Cable modem peeps :)

well, I was chuffed (it did take me all day to get it running though, creating those linux boot disks takes AGES!)

    Cheers again!

    Axe.
