NEED HELP but easy question im guessing

when you go to webpages how do you find out who authored them and when??? its for a computer class , but im allowed to use any internet source so this isnt cheating!! i have to find certain topics like weather and tigers but each page i find i have to find the author and when it was made ?!? how do i do this please help its due in the morning !

thanks that helped me with the date, but i cant find the authors name ,, is it sometimes just not findable? even if i view source code i cant find it
