Need help fast

    Im trying to install XP home on a laptop. I can see the install disk in dos, in bios the cdrom is listed. when I try to start the install, it keeps asking for the disk to be put in the drive. It's already there but it's not seeing it.HELP

    When you get into the BIOS do you see the boot options? Make sure it boots to the CD first..

    If the CDROM drive is listed first in the boot order in the BIOS, and if you're using an actual XP CD, all you need to do is restart the computer with the XP CD in the drive.

    A flashing cursor will appear, then a Press any key to boot from CD command will appear.

    After you press any key before the command disappears, the setup process will begin.

    Here is a good pictorial guide that you should get familiar with before you start.
