    For your external/Internet IP try:

    www.whatismyip.com

For your LAN IP address and other IP info, and assuming you are on WinXP, try:

    start / run / cmd

which gives you a DOS window. In there use:

    ipconfig/all

A program like ActivePort s (available from http://www.protect-me.com/?from=prog_aports, under Choose aproduct select the Freeware option) will show all active TCP and UDP ports on your PC.

current connections will be shown with the netstat command from the command line. You will have to study the options to decide which is most appropriate for you.

To find out about the mystery server, go to http://www.arin.net and type the IP address of the server into the whois window on that page.
