Heres the problem:

This problem has come to me this morning. hope somebody could give me some advise to settle this problem.

This is the what that person email to me.

Every time I play a game, after a while my whole computer freezes. I have no idea why this is happening. Some say it maybe because of my RAM or my video card which were newly installed.

I used to have a 7300 LE and 1 DDR2 533MHZ 512 RAM, now I have a 8800GT and 2x 1GB DRR2 633 MHZ RAM.

Motherboard

Board: Hewleet-Packard Asterope2 1.0
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc.

7300 LE and the 512 MB RAM worked fine on my motherboard in terms of playing games.

Any idea on how to fix games from freezing?

Most likely a power supply problem. Based on the rest of the system specs, I'm guessing the PSU in his computer (an HP, I'm guessing) is far too underpowered to work with an 8800GT.

Required for 880 GT = Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply. (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 22 Amp Amps.)

Is that really power supply problem? By the way thanks for the reply but I just to make sure before ask him to change the power supply. Just worried if after replaced the power supply the problem still come out.

well, its most likely a power supply but tell him to try cleaning out the case of all the dust and ask him to check if the card is overheating, those are some serious upgrades and it certainly sounds like a hardware problem

Ok thanks. Now confirm already that is because of power supply problem. We try to clean it first if still like that. No choice.. we need to change it. Thanks guys..

Could be heat also although looks like PSU.

Also try downloading NTune from the NVidia website and manually adjust the GPU fan speed to around 50% then try running the games. Worth a try because it's a free option, always good to try any possible 'free' fixes before spending any cash.

Some 8800GT cards to have heat issues (I have one myself)
